Dental Implants

A dental implant is usually manufactured from clinically pure titanium which is threaded into the jawbone. Bridges, individual crowns and loose dentures can be supported by dental implants.

Generally the majority of our patients are suitable for dental implant as long as they are in good health and have capable bone. If you have several missing teeth dental implants can also be used to support the entire mouth alternatively they can support one or more false teeth. We may be required to undertake an X-ray to ensure your bone levels are acceptable for a dental implant. If inadequate bone levels are found we can look at grafting procedures using bone or bone substitutes which enable acceptable support for dental implants.

Generally patients will be put under local anaesthetic when the dentist is placing the dental implants.

Dental implants are a perfect long lasting option for replacing missing teeth and are a really popular alternative to wearing dentures.

“Implants have changed my life in so many ways. I couldn’t get used to my denture and simple things like biting into an apple were becoming a daily issue. Now I have no problems eating and speaking with confidence in front of people – and that’s all because of the implant team at Dental Perfection.”
